MES
The Machined Extreme Service (MES) Series rim/wheel is our answer to the more aggressive radial tire now being used in open pit mining applications.
The three areas of benefit to the customer are:
- Extended rim life
- Increased safety levels
- Extended tire life
Our unique manufacturing process we call ‘forming through machining' allows us to increase the steel mass of the rim by up to 100% in critical areas.
Each component is fully machined from rolled steel to ensure optimal roundness. This means better component fit and better tire fit on the rim base. This translates into longer component life and longer tire life.
Some manufacturers with excessive tolerances cause poor flange fitment resulting in flange rotation and early failures.
The knurless design in the bead seat area on the rim back section and bead seat band allows the tire bead, (heel, sole and toe), to mate and seal on a machined surface. The tire bead now has 75% more contact area on the rim to seal air in the tire, preventing air loss and reducing tire slippage!
The MES Series, completely machined, with improved cross-sectional strength in highly stressed areas, enables reliability and safety at increased air pressures and heavier loads.
