Liebherr initiated planning for the re-opening of the Newport News plant as a full manufacturing facility, with the entry into the mining industry, updating and adapting it to large scale manufacturing, only this time the product line is off-highway haul trucks ranging in capacity from 190 short tons to 360 short tons of payload.
